AMCA CERTIFIED FANS
AMCA 240-22 CERTIFICATION
For more than 100 years, AMCA (the Air Movement Control Association) has been a recognized authority for the development and measurement of airflow. The AMCA Standard 240 was developed to measure and compare effective airflow of a PPV used on a standard doorway. This test was revised in 2022 to specifically test battery-powered PPV fans and was created in collaboration with industry experts, select firefighters and PPV manufacturers.

Difference between AMCA STANDARD 240-16 and NEW STANDARD 240-22
The three new test variables below were adapted to deliver more accurate runtimes, resulting in lower airflows compared to identical fans tested to the old AMCA 240-16 standard.

Smaller Doorway
To meet international standards, AMCA adjusted the doorway dimensions from
6' 8" x 3' (2.03mX0.91m)
to 6' 3" x 3' 2" (1.90mX0.97m).

Constant Power Supply
Since battery power drops over time, AMCA connects the PPV to a constant voltage DC power supply to ensure other variables will not effect test results.

Documentation of Runtimes
To assure battery runtime accuracy across all battery manufacturers, the PPV is ran at full speed until its two fully charged batteries are depleted.
